WAR KINGS- THE BATTLE!

WAR KINGS - THE DUEL!

This is a War Kings-The Battle! - Strategic version.

Note: Players will need to have a deck each to be able to duel.

Objective

To eliminate the opponent until their lives or rations run out.

Setup for each player

i) Pick out the 10 green (Terrain) card.

ii) Set 5 white terrain cards as lives and the other 5 as terrains.

iii) Shuffle the deck and deal 7 cards to yourself.

iv) Set up according to diagram beside.

v) Start game.

How to Win

Battle with your opponent using the

card on your hand until their lives or

rations run out.

Turn Order

1. Start and end your turn

In each turn there are 4 things to do:

To end turn (Draw Turn):

All players draw from draw pile to make up 7 cards on hand. If no card is used, player in turn must discard 1 card on hand and draw from draw pile (ration). The turn then passes on to the next player

Note:

Yellow cards have to be set (i.e. place down) to be used.

Players may only draw cards during their Draw Turn ( i.e. replenishing the card on hand at the end of turn of any players)

2. Card definition

All blue cards (Battle) are used the same way except for:

Allies - When you play this card, you may draw 2 cards from draw

pile instantly.

Retreat - When you play this card, you will flip open the top card of the draw pile to decide if retreat successfully. After which the card will be shuttled into the deck again.

All yellow cards (Advisor) are used the same way except for:

Divert enemy - When you play this card, you may pick 3 cards from

opponent’s hand for battle in that round.

Recruit convert - When you play this card after you won a battle. You may get back all the battle cards you used for that battle.

All red cards (Strategic) are used the same way except for:

Detour - When you play this card, you are free from attack for one turn and free to change any number of cards on hand with the draw pile. Card exchanged will be shuttled into the deck.

Fire Attack - When you play this card, you may choose to deal direct damage to opponent (causing opponent to lose 2 cards on hand) or ask opponent to draw a card to determine if Fire attack was successful. If successful, you may decide that opponent to lose 10 cards from rations (draw pile) or lose 1 live.

Attacking by Stratagem - When you play this card, you will cause

your opponent to lose the coming 2 draw turns.

However, during the turn of the opponent, opponent may sacrifice 3 Yellow cards to stop the effects of this card or sacrifice 4 Battle cards to get back 2nd draw turn and the turn will be back to opponents.

WAR KINGS - ENEMY ATTACK!

Each player is a general to retreat his soldiers in mists of battle.

Objective

To retreat all soldiers on hand/ to have the minimum number of soldiers on hand when enemy attacks.

Setup

i) Shuffle the deck and deal 5 cards to each player.

ii) Split the rest of the to 2 equal deck (deck 1 and deck 2)

iii) Insert the “enemy attack” card into deck 1 and shuffle

iv) Place deck 1 face down

v) Place deck 2 on top of deck 1 to form the draw pile.

vi) Turn over the top card and place it at the side to form the open pile.

vii) Start game.

How to Win

Retreat as many soldiers as possible on your hand. The first player to have zero soldiers on hand before the “enemy attack” card is drawn wins the game and the player with the most number of soldiers on hand loses the game.

Alternatively, when a player draws the card above the “enemy attack” card, it is the last round of the game starting from the next player. In this last round, any player may pick up the “enemy attack” card.

The player who picks up the “enemy attack” card and has the minimum number of soldiers on hand wins the game. If the player does not have the minimum number of soldiers, he lost.

However, if no player picks up the card in the last round, the game ends as the turn ends for the player who draws the card above the “enemy attack” card.

Turn Order

1. Start and end your turn

Discard a card from your hand and draw a card either from the top of the draw pile or from the top of the open pile. (at any turn, each player must at least draw a card from either the top of the draw pile or from the top of the open pile) After done so, the turn passes on to next player and continues until the game ends.

2. Discarding more than 1 card a turn

You may discard 2 or 3 cards during your turn if the cards are the same. (i.e. you may discard 3 “Attack” cards that you have on hand.)

However, for the yellow, red and green cards, you may discard 3 cards during your turn when you have 3 different cards from the same color. (i.e. you may discard 3 yellow cards if they are “Recruit convert”, “Know your enemy” and “Deception”.)

3. Total Cards

(Blue) 1 Soldier x 24 - represents 1 soldier at end of game.

(Blue) 2 Soldiers x 12 - represents 2 soldiers at end of game.

(Green) 3 Soldiers x 10 - represents 3 soldiers at end of game.

(Yellow) Advisor x 8 - total no. of soldiers on hand multiply by 2 at end of game.

(Red) 2 Scroll x 4 - the next player may only discard 1 card but must draw 2 cards from the draw pile.

(However, next player may put the same card to carry on the effect of the card to the player after his/her turn. When game ends, this card represents 2 soldiers)

(Red) 1 Scroll x 4 - the next player may only discard 1 card but must draw 1 card from draw pile. (When game ends, this card represents 1 soldier)

(Red) Empty terrain x 2 - represents zero soldier at end of game.
